Statement on disqualification and removal of McYoung Yang from Pastoral ministry.

Statement on disqualification and removal of McYoung Yang from Pastoral ministry.

With deep sadness, the elders of Covenant City Church announce that McYoung Yang was removed from ministry at Covenant City Church since the end of May 2026. His disqualification from pastoral ministry was due to the elders’ learning that McYoung had been engaged in habitual sin, where over a period of many years there were numerous inappropriate flirtatious interactions with random and unknown women.

In meeting with McYoung, the elders of C3 have placed him under church discipline and are following a process to walk alongside him with the desire to see his genuine repentance to the Lord Jesus Christ, healing for his marriage and family, and a restored fellowship with the church. To all who know McYoung, we ask that you pray that God would grant him the grace to walk humbly with God, overcome the sin he was entangled in, and to grow in faithfulness to God.

Finally, Covenant City Church has the conviction that although men may and do fail, God is the one who is able to cause his church to stand (2 Cor. 1:21-22). As elders, we are committed to walking alongside our church family with compassion, understanding, and biblical care. And, as a church, we reaffirm our commitment to holiness, integrity, accountability, and the faithful preaching of God's Word. Christ remains the Head of His Church, and our confidence is ultimately in Him rather than in any human leader. Even in seasons of sorrow, we trust His promise to sustain and purify His people.

In Christ,
The Elders of C3
